Finishing the Body

Fasten off the yarn, pull the hole closed tightly using your needle, and trim the excess.

Embroider the eyelids by making three small stitches above each eye using the main green yarn.

Phase 2: The Mouth

Mouth Construction:

The mouth is worked directly onto the body. It should remain open on the side.

Starting 2 rounds above the right arm (at eye level), attach the yarn. Crochet 2 sc. Move up one row and crochet: 1 sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sl st.

Turn the toy so the eyes are facing down. One row above the eyes, crochet: hdc, 2 dc. One row below the eyes, crochet: hdc.

Turn the toy sideways (eyes to the left), crochet 1 sc diagonally, and sl st under the upper lip. Fasten off and trim.

Phase 3: Final Details

  • Use the pink yarn to create a small tongue (a simple loop) inside the mouth.
  • Glue the 5mm half-bead eyes into place.
  • Optional: Add a small bow or other accessories to decorate your creature.
