  • Yarn in main color for the pencil (any color)

  • Beige yarn

  • Gray yarn

  • Light pink yarn

  • “Detkaya Novinka” yarn is recommended

  • 1.25mm crochet hook (Clover recommended)

  • Fiberfill stuffing

  • Yarn needle

  • Scissors

  • Piece of yarn or pendant for a loop (optional)

Finished size is approximately 3-4 inches long. Gauge is not critical for this project.

Pattern Instructions

Phase 1: The Body (Main Color)

4 sc in magic ring

(sc, inc) x 2

6 sc

If you want a shorter stem, work Round 3 in beige, through the back loops only, and Round 4 through both loops as usual. Then continue following the pattern.

Phase 2: Beige Stripe

Through back loops only: (sc, inc) x 3

(2 sc, inc) x 3

(sc, inc) x 6

2 sc (do not complete the last sc, change color to main color), sc (do not complete the last sc, change color to beige), 2 sc, sc… Repeat around.

Beige: dec, main color: inc… Repeat around.

Cut the beige yarn. Continue working with the main color.

18 sc – 12 rounds (You can add more rounds here to make the pencil longer)

Phase 3: Gray Stripe

18 sc – 2 rounds

Phase 4: Pink Stripe

Through back loops only: 18 sc

18 sc – 2 rounds

Add fiberfill stuffing before proceeding.

Through back loops only: (sc, dec) x 6

Dec in each st around

Close the opening tightly and weave in the ends.

The pencil is complete!

Assembly and finishing:

  • Stuff the pencil firmly with fiberfill.

  • Close the opening tightly.

  • Weave in all loose ends securely.

  • Add a loop of yarn or a pendant to the top if desired.
